Pasta con Sarde is a traditional Sicilian dish that is made all over the island, using typical local ingredients. It is most often cooked from February to the end of May because wild fennel is tender and abundant during this period and the sardines are fished in large quantities. Vincenzo’s Sugo Pasta con Sarde is ready to use. It has a balanced taste of wild fennel and fresh sardines, softened by Corinthian raisins and deepened by the addition of some salted sardines.
Unopened: at least one year. Once opened keep refrigerated and eat within 3 days.
How to use
Do not cook your Sugo Pasta con Sarde; it should be added last and allowed to gently come to temperature. To make a pasta sauce dilute your Sugo Pasta con Sarde with some of the pasta cooking water.
Wild fennel, broth, fresh sardines (25%), onion, sunflower oil, Corinthian raisins, salted sardines, salt
We love it so much with pasta that we have not tried anything else yet! We are curious to hear what you do with it.
